Dr. Sangeeta Madan, Lecturer, Deptt. of Microbiology, Kanya Gurukul Mahavidayalaya, Haridwar focussed on the global warming and its impact on environment, agriculture and on health. She told that climate change has resulted in melting of ice, rise in sea levels, increase in temperature differences between air over the land and over the sea, causes strong shore wind and more intense currents in coastal areas. Effect of climate warming on agriculture involves reduce in crop yield, increase in the frequency and duration of droughts, decrease in soil moisture in agricultural soils. Human health may also be affected by climate warming indirectly. Mosquitoes and other disease carrier would expand their range into the newly warm areas and spread malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever etc. and more severe heat waves during summer months will cause an increase in the number of deaths.
In her paper presentation Garima Arya, Lecturer, Deptt. of Microbiology from Kanya Gurukul Mahavidayalaya, Haridwar stated that carbon dioxide from the atmosphere can be reduced by culturing some microorganisms in soil like Fungi, Fusarium, Aspergillus and Trichoderma and bacteria cytophagaa, vibrio, cellulomonas, streptomonas and streptomyces, these microorganisms in soil convert carbon dioxide to various useful organic compounds.

He also told that in future high temperature will favour the growth of disease causing micro organisms such as viruses and bacteria. High temperature increases the strength and reproductive rate of micro organisms.
Climate change and global warming has increased the body temperature of human beings and this has resulted in increased rate of respiration, heart beat, migraine and metabolism. In future new diseases will be seen in human beings.
Prof. M.R. Dave, Ex. Principal from J.P. Pardiwala Arts and Commerce College, Gujarat directed towards solutions to the problem of global warming. He told that more public awareness is required.
